Hi. I am now waiting for the first print of my new novel but am undecided about the title and the cover. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has a view on this (through the contact page on this website). The first title, ALL THAT GLITTERS, (cover shown in my blog, August 27) puts an emphasis on valuable beach pebbles, featured through the book, but the second title, which is new, MEMORIES ARE NOT ENOUGH, changes the emphasis to the relationships of the people involved and especially one of the main characters, Florence Hathaway. I am thinking that relationships are more important than artefacts. What do you think?

Hi all. Finding short stories with 'punch' is not easy. I hear storytellers with compelling voices, whose stories fall flat at the very end. Everyone expects a good twist as the finale and it is always disappointing when everything peters out with an anticlimax. Writing short stories is the same. I find spooky stories often lend themselves to a good finale. In my book of short stories, TALL TALES, there are five such stories which have an 'other worldly' element. More recently, I have written ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY, not yet published anywhere. This is a ghost story of revenge. I read this out at an open mic night and was gratified when members of the audience feared nightmares after hearing it. Another I am working on is ME AND MY SHADOW where spooky shadows have a mind of their own! Bye for now. Julie
