I would like to thank Julian and his wife for the very encouraging review of my novel, MEG'S JOURNEY

'Hi Julia, my wife really enjoyed your book. She said it was well written and was impressed how you portrayed the main character learning about herself from the experiences of others. I will order a few more of your books for her to read. She has passed Megs journey to her mum and sister to read. She has taken note of a couple of typos and I will send you the details (I am away offshore at the moment) as soon as she sends them. Thanks, Julian'

Hi All. Welcome to my very short blog whether you are returning or here for the first time. I'm now about 130 pages into my new novel, ALL THAT GLITTERS, a sequel to NEVER SAY GOODBYE. I have just changed the title to fall in line with the adage, 'all that glitters is not gold.' This is because a central theme of the book is fluorescent tones that glitter under ultraviolet light. Strange topic? Definitely. As you know, I am scrupulous about integrity no matter how strange the story or the topic. How do I ensure this happens? As I'm writing each sentence and devising each scene, I constantly ask myself: why is this happening? how could this possibly happen at this particular time? By asking myself searching questions I discover anything that doesn't make sense of fit in with the character or the story. Sometimes it means changing round chapters, altering the course of the story or adding character traits. It all takes time but is an amazing challenge. Here's the slightly revised cover.

On my way to the Ulverston Writers Group I stopped at a picnic spot on the A590 to take this pic. If you're on the route (from Kendal to Ulverston) and want to stop off this is a very convenient spot. Anyone in Ulverston on Thursday, September 8, should visit the local library for a 'Meet the Author Day,' organised by Ulverston Writers. There will be twelve authors from the group there with their books most of the day. I will be there with my collection from 11am - 12.00 noon, but will likely hang around for a bit and see how things go. The only book I will have to sell is my poetry book HOTCHPOTCH which will be reduced in price, for the day only, from £7.50 to £6.00. This book is available to order from 2QT Publishing. Other books will be on display for any one who wants to glance through or have a read in the library. Maybe see you there?
